29 undergraduate students from College of Civil Engineering, Tongji University participated in the summer camp in Hong Kong from 4-10 August, 2019, led by Prof. Huanjun Jiang, Mr. Zhaohai Li and Ms. Xiaodong Zhu.

During this camp, the CCE group visited Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering of City University of Hong Kong, and Department of Civil Engineering of The University of Hong Kong. They were shown around the campuses and laboratories and given lectures on the study programs and research progress of these departments. Besides, the group also visited some renowned enterprises including ARUP and Gammon Construction Ltd. Listening to the speeches given by the senior engineers on their major projects and visiting the well-organized construction site and concrete batching plant impressed all the participants. In addition, the group also got a glimpse at several landmarks, such as Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, Golden Bauhinia Square, Victoria Peak and Hong Hong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

By visiting these universities and enterprises, walking around the campuses, laboratories and construction site and attending the lectures, the students got to know the current trend of civil engineering and experienced the unique campus culture in Hong Kong.
