A delegation of 38 students and faculty members from Tongji University’s College of Civil Engineering attended the 36th KKHTCNN Symposium on Civil Engineering, held at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology from December 2 to 5. The event brought together more than 200 participants from seven leading Asian institutions, including Kyoto University, KAIST, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Tongji University, Chulalongkorn University, Taiwan University, and the National University of Singapore.

During the symposium, which featured 198 presentations across 32 thematic sessions, Tongji researchers delivered academic reports on topics spanning structural engineering, geotechnics, sustainable infrastructure, and AI in civil engineering. A PhD candidate from the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, Yan DAI, received the Best Presentation Award for her outstanding contribution. In line with Tongji’s commitment to international academic engagement, participants gained valuable feedback and forged connections with peers across Asia.
