In the 1st University Civil Engineering Practice and Teaching Seminar held recently, three undergraduates from Tongji University won a special prize, a first prize and a second prize respectively of the 1st University Civil Engineering Majors’ Outstanding Innovative Practice Award.

     From October 10th to 12th, the 1st University Civil Engineering Practice and Teaching Seminar was held in Lanzhou University of Science and Technology. Members of National Civil Engineering Steering Committee, teacher and student representatives of over 70 colleges and universities attended this seminar.

    Three innovative programs by Tongji students stood out and entered the final context of Civil Engineering Undergraduate Majors’ Outstanding Innovative Practice Award. At last, the three programs all won good results. Wang Jiayu’s program: vibration table test of multi-storey structural vibration damping won a special prize. Liu Hongchuang’s program: regenerability of truss system after partial destruction won a first prize. Wang Zhen’s program: tensile property research of PHC tube pile’s joints in Expo theme pavilion won a second prize.
