On April 12^th, 2008, the ceremony of awarding Prof. Robert Mair of Cambridge University the Honorary Professor of Tongji University was held in Xuri Building. Executive Vice-president Li Yongsheng representing the University awarded the certificate for Prof. Mair. Principals and professors of Graduate College and Civil Engineering College attended the ceremony.

     Prof. Mair expressed that he was greatly honored to be an Honorary Professor of Tongji University and he was willing to strengthen the academic communication and cooperation between Tongji and Cambridge.

    In the afternoon, Prof. Mair made an academic lecture named Building Response to Adjacent Deep Excavations for students and teachers of Civil Engineering College.
