National Civil Engineering Competition is founded by ASCE and had a long history, which is composed of 14 items including Concrete Canoe, Steel Bridge, Geotechncial, Balsa Towe, Concrete Cylinder, Survey, Transportation, Envirosurvey, Professional Paper, Plan Reading, Mystery, Visual Display, Golf, Tee Shirt and so on. Since 2006, Tongji University has attended the contest as an honored guest and achieved gratifying successes

The new National Civil Engineering Competition is going to be held in Mar, 2010, which our school will continue to attend. Now, the open selection of attendants has been started and relevant affairs are published as the following:

A  Conditions for candidates

Attendants should satisfy the following requirement:

   1.      Full-time undergraduates admitted to Tongji University in 2006 and 2007 are required.

 2.      Have good command of listening, speaking, reading and writing in English and can fluently communicate in oral and written form.

3.      Have the experience of all kinds of scientific and technological innovation activities of the school.

  4.      Be willing to attend the National Civil Engineering Competition and enter in a designated way.

  5.      Can afford the relevant charges for the contest.

B  Fund specification

The school will bear the entry fee and subsidize 5000 yuan per attendant. Other expenses are not included.

C  Registration way

   1.    Electronic and written applications are wished to be submitted, which include personal information, achievement, entry reason and proficient work.

   2.    Please submit written application to Room A107, Civil Building and electronic one  to shuai21a@yeah.net. Absence of either is regard as invalid.

  3.  Time for application starts from now and expires at 12:00 AM, Sep 28^th, 2008. Overdue application is invalid.

D  Selection

 1.  Qualification examinations are performed according to personal applications.

 2.  The passed students will be notified of the time and place of the interview in E-mail on Sep 29^th.

 3.   Interview is arranged by instructors and relevant directors of the college.

 4.   Interview is planned to start on Oct 1^st, 2009.
