In the recent ASCE 2009 Southeast Student Contest, Tongji students’ team won the only mobile trophy of Excellent Spirit Award with the second-place total score.

        From March 26ht to 28^th the ASCE 2009 Southeast Student Contest was held in Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, US. Representative teams from 26 universities in Tennessee, Alabama, Florida, etc participated in the contest. The number of participants was up to one thousand.

       Invited by the contest organizer, Tongji team of 13 undergraduate students went to America for this contest. Led by Xiong Haibei and the other 2 teachers from Civil Engineering College, the team was consisted of Liu Hongchuang, Wu Wei, Li Zheng, Han Jun, Cui Wei of Grade 2005 and Tian Yuan, Wang Zhen, Wei Xiaona, Tu Ruifu, Chen Long, Bao Longqing, Jiang Tong of Grade 2006 from Civil Engineering College and Wang Ying from Tongji Environmental Engineering College. Tongji team participated in 12 items except Concrete Canoe and Transportation. Finally, our team won the only mobile trophy of Excellent Spirit Award with the second-place total score and this was the top honor award the invited team obtained in ASCE Student Contest.
