From June. 28th to 30th, 2015, 2nd Joint Workshop on Building/Civil Engineering between Tongji University and Tokyo Institute of Technology was held on Tongji Campus. 11 faculty members and 10 students from Tokyo Institute of Technology(TIT)joined the workshop.
The 2nd Joint Workshop was hosted by College of Civil Engineering(CCE). Prof. Huang Hongwei, Vice Dean of CCE made the opening speech on the morning of Jun. 29th. Prof. Shojiro Motoyui from TIT and Prof. Chen Yiyi from Tongji gave a keynote lecture respectively, titled “Damage of Suspended Ceiling in Earthquakes” and “Connections of Steel Structural Frames- The Study of Its Properties and Improvement”.
Prof. Gu Xianglin, Prof. Tong Lewei from TJU and Prof. Toru Takeuchi, Prof. Satoshi Yamada from TIT chaired report sessions. Ten graduates from CCE and ten graduates from TIT made academic reports to exchange their research findings. This workshop was mainly concentrating on structural engineering, bridge engineering, seismic isolation and vibration reduction technology. At last, Prof. Huang Hongwei and Prof. Toru Takeuchi made the closing speech, and presented the Best Academic Award to the students.
On the morning of June 30th, professors and graduates from TIT visited the Multi-functional Shaking Tables Lab on Jiading Campus of TJU.
