On April 23, delegation led by Ne Biao, Director of Department of Cultural and Educational Experts, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs and Liu Maozhou, Deputy Director  inspected the work of Tongji University. They visited the “Wind Tunnel Lab” in College of Automotive Studies and the “Multi-functional Shaking Tables Lab” in College of Civil Engineering on Jiading Campus. Prof. Huang Hongwei, Vice Dean of CCE and Dr. Yang Chengyu introduced the lab in detail. The “Multi-functional Shaking Tables Lab” of Tongji University was supported by the 985-project program (phase II) of Ministry of Education.The building construction and facilities installation has been completed in 2011. The “Multiple Shake Tables Testing System”, with a total testing capacity of 200ton, is among the largest and most capable multiple shake tables systems in the world. It has developed a world-class multi-functional earthquake simulation platform for the vibration and seismic testing research of bridge engineering, building and spatial structure engineering, underground structure engineering and lifeline engineering .
