On January 11, 2012, Ms. Dong Xiu from the International Affair Office, the Vice Dean of College of Civil Engineering, Prof. Huang Hongwei met Prof. Nadim M. Aziz, Chair of Department of Civil Engineering of Clemson University and Prof. C.H. Juang. Ms. Dong Xiu, Prof. Huang Hongwei and Prof. Nadim M. Aziz introduced the information about civil engineering discipline at each institution. Both sides recognize the value of academic exchange and cooperation and agree to collaborate in all aspects of education, exchange of faculty and students, and collaboration in scientific areas of mutual interest and capabilities. After the meeting, Prof. Nadim M. Aziz and Prof. Huang Hongwei signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Department of Civil Engineering of Clemson University and College of Civil Engineering of Tongji University. Assistant to Dean Dr. Tan Yong, Dr. Zhang Dongmei and Dr. Zhang Jie also attended this meeting. Thereafter, Prof. C.H. Juang gave a lecture on his new research on geotechnical robust design. In the afternoon, the guests visited the Innovation Base for Civil Engineering, Education and Experimental Centre for Students, Wind Tunnels, Shake Table, and Centrifuge laboratory.
