On the morning of June 16th, Yu Zhengsheng, the member of the Political Bureau and secretary of Shanghai municipal Communist Party committee, met Dr. Yin Yanliang of Taiwan Guanghua Foundation invited by Tongji University. Zhou Jialun, secretary of the University Party Committee and the Executive Vice-President Li Yongsheng attended the meeting.

    Later, Dr. Yin Yanliang and his delegation came to Tongji and met the University President Pei gang. The meeting was presided by Li Yongsheng. The President Assistant Dong Qi, Academician Shen Yanzu, related experts and professors from College of Civil Engineering and Office of HongKong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs were also present at the meeting.

    Pei Gang expressed his welcome to Dr. Yin Yanliang and his delegation as well as his thanks for Guanghua Foundation’s long-standing support for Tongji. During the meeting, the two parties talked about the cooperation in the field of civil engineering and discussed the details. This cooperation was aimed at promoting the development of the discipline of civil engineering. Dr. Yin Yanliang hoped that through this cooperation, Tongji’s discipline of civil engineering would develop towards the international level so as to make greater contribution for our country and society.

    After the meeting, Pei Gang and Dr. Yin Yanliang signed the letter of intent approved by the two parties.

    At noon, Prof. Zhou Jialun dined Dr. Yin Yanliang and his delegation at Xuri Building.
