The 13th International Conference on Structural Safety and Reliability was held in Tongji

The 13th International Conference on Structural Safety and Reliability (ICOSSAR2021-2022) was held in Tongji University from September 13 to 17, 2022. The conference was hosted by International Association for Structural Safety and Reliability (IASSAR), organized by Tongji University, and co-organized by State Key Laboratory of Civil Engineering for Disaster Prevention, International Joint Research Center for Engineering Reliability and Stochastic Mechanics, and Shanghai Institute of Disaster Prevention and Relief. Prof. Chen Jianbing, the chair of the conference organizing committee, presided over the opening ceremony. Prof. Li Jie, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of ICOSSAR, Prof. Tong Xiaohua, Vice President of Tongji University, and Prof. Pol D. Spanos, Academician of American Academy of Engineering, Foreign Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chairman of ICOSSAR Executive Committee, delivered speeches successively.

The conference was held online, with an offline main conference venue at Tongji University. 440 researchers, engineers and graduate students from 30 countries including China, USA, Japan, Germany, UK, Italy, Korea and Canada attended this conference. The attendees included more than 240 foreign scholars. There were 4 Keynote Lectures, 3 Early Career Lectures, 4 Short Course Lectures for Engineers, and 481 reports in 80 parallel sessions. IASSAR is one of the major international academic organizations in the field of civil engineering. The ICOSSAR was held for the first time in 1969 and has been held every four years since 1977, alternating among continents. It is the largest and highest level international academic conference in the field of engineering reliability.
